Over the years, we have perfected our process. Everything comes down to an exact science and because of this each project reflects the client’s vision. Our 7 step process allows for our custom carpentry services to remain on budget and on time.
We begin with a complimentary meeting with the client. This is essential because if we don’t know what you want, we can’t create it for you. Even if you don’t know what you want yet, when we meet with you, we’ll help you figure that out. We’ll come to you, or you can visit us. Either way, we’ll be able to determine the best course of action to bring your dreams to life. If you have pictures or sketches of what you’re looking for, all the better. If not, don’t worry. We have designers on staff who are capable of taking a simple concept and adapting it into an accurate 3D rendering. But, we’ll wait on that for now. That comes in Step 3.
This step is pretty straight forward. All custom millwork and cabinetry requires exact measurements. We’ll measure the space to ensure we know the dimensions we’re working with.
Our team creates a 3D rendering and we meet with you once again. This 3D rendering allows you to determine if there are any changes that you would like made before we begin with the construction. We’ll perform any changes to the design at no extra cost because we want you to get exactly what you want even if it’s something that pops up in the moment. Inspiration can hit at any time which is why when we say we offer truly custom cabinetry services in Halifax, Dartmouth and beyond, we mean it.
Once pricing has been determined, we’ll meet with you to go over the quote. We stand for quality and if there’s an aspect of the pricing that you aren’t quite clear about, we’ll go over everything and make any changes you’d like.
Once the details are finalized and you give us the go-ahead, we send the job to our shop. This process takes a few days as we prepare the files and CNC programming (Computer Numeric Control - State of the art computerized machining through which designs are converted to numbers which control the movement of the cutter. This means cabinet sizes are more precise and the cabinets are assembled with Blind Dado construction making a stronger cabinet.) and order the necessary materials. We can also mark layouts on the job site so you can see physically where everything will be. If you are using your own tradespeople for the job, we’ll mark for plumbing and electrical to guide them in the right direction.
We deliver for install in 4-6 weeks. The install itself usually takes 3-5 days, depending on the size of your space and the details involved.
This last step is our favourite. The custom millwork and cabinetry job is finished and you fall in love with your new cabinets, vanity or remodel. We high-five and smile because we’re happy to have another satisfied client.
